Cultural mediation and audience development
The Festival works to democratize culture and develop audiences by creating encounters between artists and spectators. In connection with artists associated with the Festival’s projects, it sets up and animates artistic and cultural education actions intended for the largest audience. This work of mediation contributes to anchor the arts of the puppet on the territory.

Early childhood and school audiences
The World Festival of Puppet Theaters has been involved for many years with places that welcome young children and schools, from nursery school to university.
The educational service of the Festival accompanies you in the construction of your artistic and cultural education projects: organizing the visit of an artist in your classes (PAG, artists’ residency…), providing resources to prepare your venue to the show and its exploitation in class… Alexandra Boulay, literature teacher, and Cécile Purière, mediation officer, are at your disposal to discuss and set up projects together.

Workshops for children
During the school vacations, we offer workshops for children in the construction and manipulation of puppets. Animated by artists, these are privileged moments of exchange and discovery for the youngest.
Workshops for adults
They are open to all people who want to discover puppetry through a practical workshop supervised by a professional puppeteer. Each workshop takes place during a weekend during the year.
Puppet Carolo Club
All year long, this club of puppet enthusiasts proposes outings to shows in Charleville-Mézières and in the region, and meets afterwards to discuss and exchange.

A new educational tool
The “vagabond puppets” are a playful tool to discover the arts of contemporary puppetry and to deepen some techniques. In few hours, they invite to play and allow to experiment concretely the bases of the manipulation of puppet techniques, with the help of a puppeteer. After the discovery with an artist, these pedagogical cases can be used independently in class or in group.
